Skate Muskoka Policies

 

Media Policy

Members will be asked for their consent at check out as follows: 

I, [member_name] the parent/guardian of [participant_name] (referred to as "my child"), and participant in Skate Muskoka programs and activities:

I hereby consent to my child's participation in interviews, the use of quotes and the taking of photographs and/or videos of him/her on behalf of Skate Muskoka. I also grant the right to edit, use, and reuse said products for non-profit, non-commercial purposes, including in print, online, social media and all other forms of media. I consent to the use of my child's name and association with Skate Muskoka for the forgoing purposes. I give this authorization without expectations of compensation.

This consent will remain in effect until the end of Skate Canada Seasonal year 

 

CanSkate Policy

For parents of CanSkate Participants;

  • Parents are required to be visible to coaches and skaters during a session from the ice.
  • All CanSkate participants must wear a  CSA certified hockey helmet when on the ice.

 

 

Volunteer Policy

Members are required to pay a volunteer fee for each participant. Upon completion of volunteer hours, your fee will be returned as a credit to your Skate Muskoka Uplifter account. Funds will only be credited to an account and will not be returned for cash. 

Skate Muskoka is hosting a competition January 9-11, 2026. Members can complete their volunteer hours at this event. We will also be organizing an end of year carnival that will have volunteer hours available. Please contact info@skatemuskoka.ca for more details about ways to volunteer throughout the year. 

 

 

Refund Policy

The Skate Canada fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. The volunteer fee is redeemed as a credit to your account once the volunteer commitment has been completed. If a skater chooses to withdraw from a session prior to the start date the full session fee will be refunded (minus the skate Canada and volunteer fee). If a skater withdraws after the season has begun, no refund will be issued.
